PUBLIC METHOD / 01

Useful listings need receipts.

ANZ Machine Shops is a buyer-first directory for Australian and New Zealand job shops. We publish a small set of facts that can be checked, rather than generating descriptions for every registered entity.

Source hierarchy

  1. Government registers establish identifier, legal status and public business name.
  2. Owner-approved submissions establish a public brand and contact destination.
  3. First-party shop websites establish capabilities, materials, certifications and explicitly stated machinery.
  4. G-NAF and LINZ support address and postcode-centroid coordinates.
  5. OpenStreetMap and associations are discovery sources only.

Publication gates

Exact ABN or NZBN matches merge automatically. Exact domains merge only when identifiers do not conflict. Fuzzy names always go to review. A broad name such as “engineering” is not enough to publish machining capabilities. The directory does not generate missing capabilities or descriptions.

Crawling rules

Our bot identifies itself, respects robots.txt, Retry-After, ETag and Last-Modified, visits at most four pages and 2 MB per domain, and waits 90 days before revisiting a domain. Website facts remain pending until a reviewer approves them.

Corrections

Claims, corrections and removal requests are private review records. They never change a public page automatically. Optional contact emails are not exposed through the map API.
